Yi-Chia’s dissertation, “Theoretical Exploration of Efficiency Droop Mechanisms in III-Nitride Visible Light-Emitting Diodes,” is selected as the campus nominee for the 2022 CGS/ProQuest Distinguished Dissertation Award.


Jaekwon’s project, titled “2D Optical-Thermal-Electrical Simulation for High Wall Plug Efficiency Cubic GaN Green LED on Silicon“, is recognized with a Crosslight Best Project Award that comes with a certificate and an honorarium of $1,000.

Yu-Chieh became the U.S. Champion in the distance category over the weekend, with a distance of 1626 inches (41.3 meters). Yu-Chieh will be representing the US in the Red Bull Paper Wings World Finals in Austria.
