Prof. Bayram invited to the NAE Frontiers of Engineering Symposium

Prof. Bayram is invited to attend the China-America Frontiers of Engineering Symposium (CAFOE), hosted by Qualcomm and organized by the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) and Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE). This two-and-a-half-days long symposium is held biennially, and this year, sixty participants – including the organizing committee and speakers – from Chinese and US universities, industry, and government are to cover four topics – Smart Cities, New Materials, Neuroengineering, and 5G Wireless Communication Technology.

Prof. Baris Bayram is promoted to Full Professorship

Prof. Can Bayram’s big brother, Prof. Baris Bayram (Ph.D. in EE, 2006, Stanford University, CA, US) is promoted to full professorship at the top engineering university, Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey. As a 2011 Turkish Academy of Sciences Young Scientists Awardee, Prof. Baris Bayram is the founding director of ULTRAMEMS Laboratory (est. in 2006) and his team focuses on novel ultrasonic transducers and noninvasive technologies for medical imaging. With ₺5M+ external funding, ULTRAMEMS is where next generation young scientists and student engineers seek innovative technologies.

Prof. Bayram awarded with the 2018 International Union of Pure and Applied Physics Young Scientist Prize in Optics

for revolutionizing the way graphene has been employed and making major contributions to III-V photonic devices.
